Here, File File! Nears Release

The first public attention for an iPhone app that reached into a Mac, shortly before it won an AppsFire award and appeared in an Apple commercial.

Editor's note, 2026: Here, File File! later won the utility category of the 2009 AppsFire App Star Awards and appeared in Apple's 2010 iPhone 3GS commercial, "Commute." I was one of three partners in Graceful Construction, LLC, and primarily built the macOS helper, daemon, PHP backend, and service configuration, with a small amount of iOS work.

The whole team, Adam Wulf, Buck Wilson, and I, are psyched! A few days ago we found out Here, File File! is a finalist in the AppsFire Apps Star Awards. And today, The Unofficial Apple Weblog published a great HFF write-up.

Our promo video showed how the iPhone app could browse files and attached drives on a Mac, stream media, and send files by email. The original video is no longer available.
